GIS analyses and geographical data with visual representation on maps are a central part of Nye Veier's vision, particularly within the disciplines plan, land acquisition, operation, outer environment and communication, as well as integration with the accompanying trade systems. To support this, Nye Veier has chosen Esri ArcGIS as its strategic GIS platform, which forms the foundation for the company's GIS and map based work processes, data sharing and decision support. In addition FME is used from Safe Software as a tool for receiving, transforming and delivering geographical data, including BIM and GIS related data, as well as to a limited degree solutions from VertiGIS, especially where these are a part of the ArcGIS ecosystem.
