Aalto University School of Chemical Engineering, Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems focuses on products derived from nature through green chemistry or biotechnological methods. Departments core competencies include synthetic biology, biochemical and biotechnical processing, chemistry of lignocellulosic materials, pre-treatment and fractionation of biomass, downstream unit operations as well as the characterization and analysis of materials. We are seeking an automated growth monitoring microbioreactor system (later “Microbioreactor” or “Equipment”) for monitoring and optimization of cultivation and substrate concentration also for the cultivation of strictly anaerobic organisms and gaseous products. Such a reactor system shall allow for further strain selection and generation of on-line data will help quantitative analysis of strain performance and strain profiling in terms of gene expression levels, metabolites, product intermediates and or protein levels and to learn potential targets for future strain engineering. Please, see annexes for further details.
