Metro trainsets for Helsinki Metropolitan Area

Helsingin kaupungin liikenneliikelaitos HKL is procuring new metro trainsets, other deliverables and services as specified in this Invitation to participate and its annexes for the metro system in the city of Helsinki and the city of Espoo.

The target of this procurement is to procure new metro trainsets, to be called M400 Trainsets, which are attractive for the people of Helsinki and Espoo, have high availability and are well adapted for the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. The procured Trainsets will:
• replace the existing old fleets of M100 and M200 metro trainsets from the 70s, 80s and 90s, and
• provide new metro Trainsets for enhanced operations, and
• be compatible with the new signalling system

The scope of procurement includes the following deliverables:
• M400 Trainsets
Maximum 58 Trainsets where of
o 19-23 M400 Trainsets in the Initial Purchase Order, and
o optional deliveries of M400 Trainsets up to maximum total of 58 M400 Trainsets
• Spares
• Supplier services
• Training
• Documentation
• Special tools
• Virtual and physical mock-up(s)
• IT system simulator(s)
• Wayside IT system
• Maintenance option
• Technical options for the Trainset
