CAWT PEACEPLUS – HEALTHIER FUTURES

The HSE intends to advertise a tender titled CAWT PEACEPLUS – HEALTHIER FUTURES. CAWT is the cross-border health and social care partnership, comprising the Health Service Executive (HSE) in Ireland and the Public Health Agency (PHA), Strategic Planning and Performance Group (SPPG) and Southern and Western Health & Social Care Trusts (SHSCT & WHSCT) in Northern Ireland. The overall objective of the project is to develop and implement a more synergised Cross Border and Cross Community model of support for all age ranges. The latest data shows that we are seeing increasing levels of overweight/obesity in our population and that levels are consistently higher in those who are most deprived. Without action to reverse obesity related behaviours, our population will be beset with significant ill-health related to overweight/obesity.
The project aims to complement and build on existing activities and services, to ensure equality of access to weight management interventions and early intervention prevention programmes to help prevent obesity for our shared population across all age ranges.

The CAWT PEACEPLUS (PP) Healthier Futures project will be implemented along the border counties between IRL and NI. This tender, specific to the HSE, will relate solely to the six border counties in Ireland i.e., Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim Cavan, Monaghan and Louth. There will be an information session held on April 13th from 2-3pm. online via Microsoft Teams.
