DTU Engineering Technology intends to order a bioprinter as part of setting up a new lab for the synthesis and analysis of Architected Metamaterials. The desired bioprinter is R-GEN 100 by REGENHU SA. The required features and available future upgrades of the bioprinter are the ability (i) to synthesize with accuracy complex architectures (e.g. tubular and 3D soft metamaterials) for a wide range of applications (e.g. engineered tissue), (ii) to incorporate gradients in the designs, (iii) to print multi-material structures, (iv) to incorporate nano- and microfibers in metamaterials, (v) to offer personalized technical support regarding troubleshooting and technical challenges, (vi) to create custom add-ons for extended printing capabilities, (vii) to offer temperature control in the range 5°C -40°C, (viii) to offer CAD functionalities including compatibility with other software (.stl files) and assignments of material/tool for each sub-structure, (ix) to offer theoretical linear resolution* less than 0.4μm, (x) to offer on-board camera for immediate user-verification of the printing process, and (xi) to offer a large (50-200000 mPa) viscosity range of the corresponding bioinks. Considering that no other bioprinter manufacturers can offer an instrument with these specifications, DTU intends to place an order for the R-GEN 100 to be delivered by REGENHU SA.
