135-BYM-2025 Kongsveien – renovation of railings

The Agency for Urban Environment plans to procure a contractor for the renovation of railings in Kongsveien. The project shall be contracted as an execution contract in accordance with NS 8405.

The project includes replacement of railings for driving strong railings in Kongsveien below Ekeberg in Oslo, total approx. 880 m railings. New railings shall be established on a railing bank with a varying width between 1.5 and 2.75 m. The railing bank shall be established on top of the existing dry stone walls, concrete walls or directly on filling up along the stretch. The project also includes demolition of the existing Kongsveien bridge, with the exception of land abutments and the establishment of a new superstructure for the bridge.                 The project is necessary as regards traffic safety along the entire stretch, due to the fact that the current railings have inadequate fixing in the existing walls/filling with several areas, with some railing posts completely reassembled with a large reduction in efficient cross section areas.

The contracting authority intends to announce the procurement in February 2026. The implementation period is provisionally planned from May to October 2026.
