This is a Prior Information Notice (PIN) for the procurement of for Design and Installation Services, Exhibition Manufacture and Fit-Out at the Donegal Famine Heritage Centre CLG Operating as ‘The Workhouse’, Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal. This is not a call for competition. A call to competition (Request for Tender) will be placed within three weeks of this notice.
When published, the Request for Tender (RFT) will seek a qualified contractor to provide design, manufacture, and installation services for a new visitor exhibition at the Donegal Famine Heritage Centre, operating as "The Workhouse, Dunfanaghy" which will be an estimated cost of €298,000.The project aims to transform the current local attraction into a modern, all-weather, and fully accessible visitor experience that tells the narrative of the Workhouse and "Wee Hannah".
Core Deliverables
When published, the scope in the RFT the will seek tenders to submit proposals for the end-to-step delivery of the exhibition, including:
• Interpretive Design: Developing a creative visitor journey across three spaces: the ground floor exhibition, first-floor "Wee Hannah" scenes, and the theatre.
• Content & Media: Collaborate with the Workhouse Working Group and stakeholders in scripting, and producing bilingual (Irish/English) content for the exhibition tour, as well as multi-language audio tours. Accesses to Historical Research publications, Archives, maps etc. will be available through the Workhouse Working Group.
• Technological Integration: Delivering and installing immersive technologies, interactive digital displays, and AV hardware/software.
• Physical Fit-Out: Manufacturing and moveable display cases, set designs, graphic panels, lighting and interior upgrades where required.
• Project Management: Acting as the on-site project manager to coordinate all sub-contractors and specialists while providing monthly progress and financial updates.

During the call for tender phase, the Workhouse would encourage interested suppliers to visit the current exhibition to get a better understanding of the space and requirements.
