Procurement of additional Galileo Navigation Satellites

The European Space Agency (hereinafter referred to as “the Agency” or “ESA”) acting in its role as Entrusted Entity in the name and on behalf of the European Commission (Commission or COM) - Contracting Authority, representing the European Union is planning to launch a tender procedure for the procurement of Galileo Second Generation satellites (Batch 2 G2G Satellites) to become part of the constellation operated by EU Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) . These satellites may be procured in different configurations to satisfy different Galileo Program needs. The number of satellites foreseen to be procured is to be defined after the completion of the ongoing Galileo System reviews. These satellites shall ensure the continuity of the Galileo constellation. A procurement procedure is planned to be started in Q4 2026 with the resulting contract kick-off in the course of 2028.
The procurement will be subject to participating conditions to protect the security interests of the Union.
This prior information notice announces the intention of the contracting authority to publish an upcoming procurement. No other information or documents are available at this stage. Interested economic operators are invited to subscribe at the link https://esastarpublicationext.sso.esa.int/ in order to get notified when the contract notice and all the procurement documents, including the tender specifications, are published.
