Riverfest is Limerick's largest civic festival taking place on the May Bank Holiday Weekend annually. As Ireland's only city located on its largest river, the River Shannon, Limerick leads the way with a spectacular celebratory festival on the banks and waters of this great natural resource in the heart of Limerick City. Celebrating Limerick's riverine heritage, Riverfest aims to combine participation with audience attractions to create an exciting programme. Riverfest attracts approx. 120,000 people annually and aims to showcase on a national stage the best of Limerick at the beginning of the summer tourist season.
