Permit scheme for renting electric scooters in Ålesund municipality

Ålesund municipality is lighting out the licence to hire electric scooters that will be valid for the 2026 season.

Ålesund municipality announces an application deadline for the hire period from 7 April to 31 December 2026 for renting electric scooters on public ground. Permission is given to 300 electric scooters in zone 1 (Steinvågbrua – Fagerlia).
The amount of electric scooters in zone 1 will be distributed equally to all applicants who fulfil the terms for permits, but still so that each applicant gets the maximum number of electrical scooters requested, see the regulation § 5 letter c.

There is no limit for the number of electric scooters in the rest of the municipality.

The application shall be submitted through the digital application portal on Ålesund municipality ́s website by 09.03.2026.
