Natural Resources Institute Finland's research platform for biogas and recycled nutrients at Jokioinen, Biopaja, develops various bio-based fertilizer products from different types of biomasses. As part of the development path for dry products, drying is a key area. This procurement strengthens Biopaja's drying research. The subject of the procurement is a laboratory-scale biomass dryer, which operates based on a combination of mechanical disintegration, heating, and vacuum. The device is intended for drying experiments on various raw materials for bio-based fertilizers, such as dry fractions separated from digestate and composts. The device to be acquired must include all necessary features for conducting experiments, and no separate sources of heat, vacuum, or condensers are required in addition to the acquisition. The device musta have measuring instruments for electricity consumption and changes in mass moisture, which can for example, be based on the reduction of mass. The control software of the device must be user-friendly and have a graphical interface that allows real-time monitoring and processing of measurements. The transfer of results and reports must be possible from the device's software to another computer. The content must also include comprehensive documentation for the device and its accessories, as well as user and maintenance manuals in English and preferably in Finnish. Additionally, technical documentation and a list of spare parts and consumables must be provided at least in English if these are not included in other manuals. The device must be delivered no later than December 31, 2025.
